Details of Service GMPCS enables mobile communication services via satellite for users, especially in those regions where terrestrial networks’ connectivity is limited. The service is specifically used in remote mining, oil and gas sectors, military, and disaster-affected regions. License holders deploy satellite terminals and ensure secure, continuous service with compliance with global standards. The Licensee is required to establish Land Earth Station Gateway in India for the purpose of providing Global Mobile Personal Communication by Satellite (GMPCS) Service. GMPCS Service may be provided using one or more Satellite Systems provided that the Land Earth Station Gateway Switch is established separately in India for each Satellite System. The license mandates adherence to privacy, lawful interception, and satellite transmission standards. Who Can Apply The applicant must be an Indian company, registered under the “Companies Act- 2013”. Further, the Applicant, desirous of getting an Authorization under the Unified License, may refer to the detailed guidelines of Unified License issued vide letter No. 20-577/2016-AS-I (Vol III) dated 17.01.2022 Documents Required 1.
